This week Matt graduated from Officer Candidate School. It was really cool, the Army is pretty good at ceremonies. My dad was kind enough to fly in and commission Matt as a new officer in the Army. Then we got to hang out at our cabin for the evening before taking Dad back to the airport in the morning. I got to stay at Fort Benning for four whole days, it was awesome. Actually, I even brought Matt home with me. He can only stay a few days, but we're still excited that he's here. I didn't tell the kids he was coming so we suprised them at the airport. They were so excited to see their daddy and haven't wanted him out of their sight since.

Wow! Is Forrest Gump that old that it's no longer a relevant pop culture reference? You know with Matt being a LT and Forrest commissioning him?
Yay!!! Congrats, you guys! What a happy time. That's really fun that you surprised the kids and so great that he gets at least a little time at home. (By the way, you look totally hot in that dress!)
And I totally caught the Forrest Gump reference. That might just be because Tim quotes that line somewhat frequently.
